The Turtles at Cook Island Aquatic Reserve

The Cook Island Aquatic Reserve (Jungarra Ngarrian) is located approximately 600 metres off shore from Fingal Head and approximately four kilometres south-east of the Tweed river mouth in northern NSW.

As the skipper and owner of Tweed Turtle Tours, Leigh has earned a reputation for exceptional leadership, a deep passion for marine conservation, and a commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences on the water. With a lifelong connection to the sea, Leigh specialises in eco-tourism and sustainable marine adventures, guiding guests through the stunning environments of protected areas like the Cook Island Aquatic Reserve. His extensive knowledge of marine ecosystems, scuba diving, coupled with his dedication to safety and customer satisfaction, makes every voyage both educational and inspiring. We are a family owned business and are proudly educating our children on the protection, conservation and importance of the ocean and its incredible eco systems. 

Both our kids frequent Cook Island to snorkel or scuba dive and have been involved in volunteering with local conservation groups.
